You're Gonna Need a Bigger Shelf for This Jaws Statue
It’s been more than 40 years since Jaws made its way into theaters—and our nightmares—but movie fans are still wild about the man-eating great white shark who terrorized Amity Island. Earlier this years, Ravensburger released a Jaws board game. But for those of you who want to live every week like it’s Shark Week, there are plenty more Jaws-themed goodies out there.
Quint’s Orca boat may have sunk in the movie, but for $69.99, Entertainment Earth has a limited-edition, foot-long replica of the boat (only 2500 of them were made). The Premium Motion Statue is made from heavyweight poly-resin, is hand-painted, operates with springs, and even has those familiar yellow barrels tucked into the boat.
The site also offers a 3D shark ceramic mug (do not microwave); a Bruce stainless steel shark bottle opener (Fun fact: Jaws director Steven Spielberg named the shark after his lawyer, Bruce Ramer); a “You’re Gonna Need a Bigger Boat” license plate frame, suitable for a small boat; and a vintage-looking Jaws lunchbox.
Funko has also gotten in on the Jaws action by manufacturing a few characters for their Pop! Movies vinyl series, including a 3-inch tall Quint holding a gun, a scruffy Matt Hooper, Amity Island police chief Brody dangling a cigarette and grasping a bucket of chum, and a 6-inch long recreation of "Bruce" with a diving tank in his mouth, ready to meet his fate.
