You Could Spend the Night in the Home Alone House for Just $25
Potential intruders notwithstanding, the prospect of having the five-bedroom Georgian house from Home Alone (1990) all to yourself during the holidays sounds pretty blissful.
This year, you and up to three friends could make that happen. As the Daily Mail reports, the McCallisters’ home is listed on Airbnb for one night only: December 12. It’ll cost $25—quite a bargain for any overnight stay, but especially for an estate with an estimated value of more than $2 million, according to Zillow. It’s located at 671 Lincoln Avenue in Winnetka, Illinois, a very wealthy village just north of Chicago.

The current “owner” is none other than Kevin McCallister’s older brother, Buzz. “You may not remember me as particularly accommodating,” he said in an Airbnb news release. “But I’ve grown up, and I’d be happy to share my family home—my pizza, even—with you this holiday season. Just try not to let my tarantula, Axl, loose this time.”
He’s not kidding about that last part: Visitors will actually score “a meet and greet with a real-life tarantula.” They’ll also get access to Disney+’s new movie Home Sweet Home Alone, a LEGO Ideas Home Alone set to keep for themselves, and the opportunity to deck the halls in booby traps. (The costly damages from Kevin’s original defensive ambush have evidently all been fixed.) Dining fare will include Chicago-style pizza and, of course, microwavable Kraft mac and cheese.
If you’re interested in living out your Home Alone dreams, you’ll have to act fast come 2 p.m. EST on December 7—that’s when the house will be available to book on Airbnb. Since, again, it’s for a single night, expect some serious competition.
