Rose Leslie Shares What Ygritte Would Think of Daenerys in Game of Thrones

Of all the death and destruction featured in Game of Thrones, one heartwarming story from the series was that though Jon Snow and the Wildling Ygritte's onscreen romance met a tragic end, actors Kit Harington and Rose Leslie—the actors who played them—married in real life in June 2018. Though Ygritte died in season 4 and the end of season 7 saw Jon find a new love in Daenerys Targaryen, Leslie doesn't seem bitter. She recently weighed in on what her character would think of the Mother of Dragons, and it's surprisingly positive.

While speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Leslie discussed how Ygritte would feel about Daenerys, and instead of being jealous or suggesting a cat fight between the Wildling and the Khaleesi, the 32-year-old actress said Ygritte would be in "awe" of Dany.

"There had to be a crescendo moment with Jon Snow and Ygritte," Leslie said. "He had to go on as a lone soldier, and I think the relationship would've been too much of a hindrance ... I think she'd be in utter awe [of Dany]. How wonderful to meet anybody with dragons."

Unfortunately Ygritte will never get the pleasure, but we're sure Jon will always be thinking about his late love, especially in the final season. We'll see him and Dany once again when Game of Thrones returns for season 8 on April 14.
