Universal Studios Hollywood Is Now Serving Butterbeer Ice Cream

A mainstay of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter has apparated to the West Coast. That’s right—Butterbeer ice cream has arrived at Universal Studios Hollywood, Travel + Leisure reports.

If you want to get your hands on a cup of the sweet frozen treat, you’d better hightail it to the California theme park, because this offer is only available for the summer. The swirled dessert, flavored with brown sugar and vanilla, is served in a themed container.

Some fans have said the hard-packed Butterbeer tastes like the soft-serve ice cream spilling over the containers served at Universal Orlando.

This marks the first time that Butterbeer ice cream has been offered at the Hollywood location, and two other Butterbeer-flavored desserts—potted cream and fudge—will also be available.

Desserts aren’t the only new additions to Universal Studios Hollywood. As Inside the Magic points out, new magic wand spells—incendio and alohomora—have also been introduced to Hogsmeade Village.

Using your own interactive wand (purchased separately) and the right verbal cue, you can make a door open magically and summon flames to shoot out of a chimney. The "Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle" show is also back with new effects.
