I liked Inception, the Christopher Nolan movie about dreams-within-dreams. Not only was it a wild ride as an action movie, but it presented a little puzzle for viewers at the very end, in the final shot. Charlie Chaplin Goes TRON

Last month, Ain't It Cool News announced a contest to "TRON-itize" vintage films. The idea is to take an old film and add CGI TRON-style graphics. Lots of entries have come in, but this is the best -- Charlie Chaplin's Modern Times, recut as a trailer for Modern Times: Legacy. It's short but effective. The Late Movies: Indie Comedy

I keep coming across comedy videos that I classify as "too weird for a single blog post." I think they're funny, but are they enough for one post? Probably not. Then I had a bright idea -- on the eve of Thanksgiving, why not dump a whole bunch of weird comedy in your laps? Enjoy. Look, it's Friday. You've got nine and a half minutes to kill. Apparently Moviefone is holding a contest to find America's biggest Harry Potter fan. Well, "HarryPotterHimself" argues that he is not just America's biggest Potter fan, he's the world's biggest fan. In today's bit of absurd comedy awesomeness, comedians Rob Brydon and Steve Coogan present dueling Michael Caine impersonations. I prefer Brydon (the guy in the gray sweater), but Coogan makes a good point about Caine's self-interruption (his "broken voice"). This makes me really, really want to get BBC2. Anti-Suicide Speech from "Pump Up the Volume"

In recent months, we've been reminded of teen bullying and suicide as a rising problem in the U.S. For example, I posted a Late Movies installment about the It Gets Better project. But this obviously isn't a new problem. "There Will Be Blood," SNES Style

Spoiler alert: if you haven't seen 2007's There Will Be Blood, the video below is a massive spoiler -- in the best possible way. The creators turn TWBB into a sidescrolling Super Nintendo style game (sorry, not a playable game -- just a video) lasting just one minute. The original film is 158 minutes long, so this 158:1 compression is shockingly impressive -- particularly given that it seems to get all of the major plot points in there.
