Test Your Email Safety I.Q.
6-7 Correct: Good news! You’re definitely on the right track. Maintain a secure password that you change every three or four months, and be extra vigilant when opening messages that seem suspicious. If something seems fishy, it probably is.
3-5 Correct: You’re almost there, but there are some additional steps you could take. Do a review of your account information—including your password strength—and look for any areas you may be lacking. Also, make sure you have a virus scanner installed and make sure you’re positive that any messages you’re opening are coming from legitimate sources.
0-2 Correct: A few changes can make your email much more secure. For starters, make sure your login information is completely unique from any other account you use. Be sure to use a password or passphrase that includes capital and lower cases letters mixed with numbers and special characters. Also, never click on any links or open any messages from any account you’re not familiar with.
