Designers Andrea Sanna and Piergiorgio Robino of Italy's Studio Nucleo are taking eco-friendly design to a new level. The duo recently debuted Terra!, a lawn chair that grows under the earth instead of sitting on top of it. Hyperallergic reports that the project was first introduced in 2000 at a design show in Milan, and now the team has taken to Kickstarter to bring the grass armchair to a yard near you.

Instead of using wood materials, Terra! is made of flatpacked laser-cut cardboard. The pieces interlock to form the shape of the chair, which the owner then fills with soil and seeds so that it can grow like a Chia Pet. The chair is currently being offered in a variety of sizes on Kickstarter, including the Cushion, Kids, miniature and full-sized versions of the Sofa, and miniature and full-sized versions of the standard Terra! armchair.
