In the early morning hours of August 12, millions of people trained their eyes—and their cameras—on the sky to witness the peak of the annual Perseid meteor shower. This year's "outburst" boosted the number of meteors blazing through our atmosphere. Judging from the plethora of pix from around the globe, the shower did not disappoint.
