Father Creates Elaborate Toast Art for Daughter With Severe Allergies

Adam Perry—caring father and drummer of the band The Bloodhound Gang—is responsible for making breakfast for his family while his wife gets his two daughters ready for school. His youngest daughter has severe allergies, so it limits what she can have to eat. As a result, she often has toast with coconut oil, which understandably can get a little tiresome.

"I started to feel really sorry for her that her breakfast was so boring every day, the same old two slices of white toast," Perry told ABC 7. "So I started playing with toast to get her excited about her breakfast again and to make both the girls laugh when they came down to eat."

The extravagant works of toast art have been documented and shared on Instagram. Followers of @2slicesoftoast can enjoy daily photos of over-the-top constructions of bread featuring animals, architecture, and pop culture icons. Perry works quickly, and often the art is done before the kettle has time to boil. Each edible sculpture is made out of exactly two pieces of toast.

"It's just a bit of fun, but when people comment and say it's brightened their day, somehow it feels great, so I'm going to keep going and see where the toast takes me! I need suggestions though, so if anyone has any, please send them to me and I'll try to build them!"
