Sylvester Stallone Is Selling a Career's Worth of Film Memorabilia
Actor Sylvester Stallone has starred in some of the biggest action, drama, and sports movies of the past five decades. With projects like the Rocky and Rambo franchises, Demolition Man (1993), Judge Dredd (1995), and The Expendables (2010), Stallone has racked up lots of cool points and dollars, plus thousands of original props and pieces of movie memorabilia that he is now offering to the world in an upcoming sale through Heritage Auctions.
Aptly titled "Stallone: The Auction," the sale begins on December 18 in Los Angeles and includes nearly 1400 rare pieces of memorabilia, many from Stallone's personal collection, that span his impressive career. From movie posters and photos, to screen-worn boxing gloves, costumes, and some of his most iconic weapons (including Rambo's knife and machete), the auction features some objects that have never before been offered to the public.
In several site-exclusive videos for Heritage Auctions, Stallone speaks about individual props and shares background information that only someone who worked on the films (or diehard fans) would know. "I wanted at the time the finest designer in the world to do the outfit and that was Gianni Versace," Stallone says of the Judge Dredd armor that's included in the auction.
Nearly 800 of the items are posted in the online preview, with more being added at a later date. Check out a few of the iconic pieces below and visit Heritage Auctions' website to learn more and to register to bid.
