Little Women is Getting a "Gritty" TV Reboot
Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women has been adapted into films, turned into an anime, and performed as plays and a musical. But now, the beloved classic could get its most bizarre adaptation yet: A “hyper-stylized, gritty” television series put into development by the CW.
Though this version of Little Women will feature the same characters—who were based on Alcott and her three sisters Anna, Lizzie, and May—the similarities end there. According to Deadline, “disparate half-sisters Jo, Meg, Beth, and Amy band together in order to survive the dystopic streets of Philadelphia and unravel a conspiracy that stretches far beyond anything they have ever imagined—all while trying not to kill each other in the process.”
