Dutch design firm STUDIO 1:1 created a city map of Rotterdam, and it is inhabited by ants.

Called Urban Ant City, the installation is currently housed in the Office for Metropolitan Information in Rotterdam. The glass enclosure holds hundreds of Spanish ants that make their way through the "streets." The insects are also making their own walkways and slowly creating a new roadmap. The tiny city-planners are meant to draw people into the OMI office and learn more about the city.
