Stuntmen and women have a pretty tough job. They put their well-being and sometimes even their lives on the line to jump out of buildings and cars. One of the craziest things they do? Being set on fire.

James Armstrong is a professional stuntman who has appeared in dozens of movies, including Mission Impossible III, Jack Reacher, and Thor. When the second-generation stuntman is getting ready to be set aflame, he dons several layers of clothes, alternating between wet and dry, then gets coated in a special gel that will protect him from the flames for a period of time. He follows this with a meditation ritual and focuses on his breathing. While he still gets nervous, he understands that focus is the only way he can get through the task.
