You might think that immortality is reserved for sparkly vampires and Greek gods, the stuff of fairy tales and fiction—but you would be wrong. In this video, Radiolab's Robert Krulwich and NPR's Adam Cole (who co-wrote, drew, scored, and edited the short) tell the story of the Hydra, a simple freshwater animal that doesn't age and, theoretically, can never die. Krulwich calls the animal "as close as science gets to a miracle." Watch for yourself and see if you agree.
