Grow Up to 90 Fruits and Vegetables in Your House With This Auto-Watering Indoor Garden

If you've always wanted to start your own herb or vegetable garden but don't have the yard space or the "green thumb" to pull it off, there's now another option. The OGarden Smart is an indoor gardening system that grows up to 90 plants at one time—20 of which are edible.

Strawberries, celery, kale, bok choy, green beans, cayenne pepper, green onion, and cherry tomatoes are just a few of the fruits and veggies the OGarden can grow. Up to 30 growing cups can be placed in a lower cabinet, where the seeds are allowed to germinate. Once they sprout, the plants can then be transferred to the rotating wheel up above, which holds up to 60 plants at a time. It takes about 30 to 40 days to harvest the produce, depending on the type of plant grown.

The system is self-watering and uses automatic LED lights to provide the right amount of sunlight, no matter what season it is. The only work that's required is planting the seeds and refilling the water tank once a week.

The OGarden Smart is the second product launched by company co-founders Pierre Nibart and Pierre-Etienne Bourget, of Quebec, Canada. The original OGarden debuted in 2017, and the Smart upgrade incorporates a few new features, including automatic watering, automatic LED lighting, and a water warning system. Some reviewers of the original OGarden commented that the system is easy to use, and that the vegetables taste better than store-bought produce.

The OGarden Smart will set you back $859 Canadian dollars (about $650 USD) if you order it on Kickstarter at a discounted rate, but the company's founders are quick to point out that it will help you save money in the long-run. The system lets you grow organic produce at a fraction of the price you'd pay at your local grocery store.

Family Game Night Just Got a Lot Cozier With This Inflatable Twister Game

Hammacher Schlemmer & Company
Hammacher Schlemmer & Company

With the potential for strained muscles and painful tumbles on your living room floor, Twister doesn't have a reputation for being the most comfortable board game. This unofficial version of the activity should hopefully lead to less bruising. As PopSugar reports, Hammacher Schlemmer & Company has upgraded the classic Twister mat to become a giant, inflatable play-board.

The inflatable game has all the elements of the original Twister: There are red, green, yellow, and blue dots (16 of each color) lined up on a white surface and a spinning wheel that shows you which limb to place where.

Normally the board is a flat sheet, but this one resembles a super-sized blow-up mattress. It measures 15 feet long, 15 feet wide, and 15 inches tall. A 1-hp air blower is included, and you can keep it running as you play so you don't have to worry about the board deflating and throwing off your balance. The game, which is capable of supporting up to 1500 pounds, is the perfect outdoor party accessory.

Contorting your body in relative comfort will cost you: The inflatable game costs $2000—about 100 times the price of a regular Twister board. If you can't resist adding it to your game collection, you can order it from Hammacher Schlemmer's website.

This Damn Fine Twin Peaks Box Set Is the Only One Fans Will Ever Need

Fans of David Lynch’s three-season drama Twin Peaks know there’s quite a lot to excavate. The series, which ran from 1990 to 1991 on ABC and returned for a one-season engagement on Showtime in 2017, has been a perpetual source of ambiguity, red herrings, and the downright inexplicable.

Now there’s a centralized hub of all things Peaks to dwell on. Twin Peaks: From Z to A is a Blu-ray box set containing all episodes of the original series; 1992’s feature film, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me; 2017's Twin Peaks: The Return; an international version of the 1990 pilot with additional footage; as well as an abundance of new and archival material totaling 20 hours in length.

Inside the package, which is illustrated with the Douglas firs that are part of the show’s iconography, are mini-figures of Special Agent Dale Cooper and Laura Palmer, played in the show by Kyle MacLachlan and Sheryl Lee, respectively. The box acts as a diorama of sorts and opens to reveal the Red Room, a location where many of the show’s most surreal moments took place. A series of three-by-five index cards provide backdrops of key scenes. The only thing the set doesn’t have is Lynch’s hand-drawn map of the show’s Washington location, but you can find that here.

The set is limited to 25,000 copies. It retails for $139.99 on Amazon and is due for release on December 10.
