Who Are Your Hometown's Notable Residents?

On Fridays, I post a series of unrelated questions meant to spark conversation in the comments. Answer one, answer all, respond to someone else's reply, whatever you want. On to this week's topics of discussion...

1. I'm a big fan of the 'Notable People' section of any town's Wikipedia page. People need to know they share a ZIP code with the guy who played Larry Dallas on Three's Company, the parents of the General Manager of the Colorado Rockies, or occasional guest stars of the Real Housewives franchise. What notable residents (and former residents) live near you? If you don't have a good answer for that one, what important moments in history happened in your hometown?

2. If you could go back and witness any single day of the 20th century, what day would you choose?

3. What's the best advice you ever gave someone? Advice they used and were forever indebted to you.

4. What was the last thing you Googled? (Mine was a self-indulgent "Jason English beard." I'm looking for evidence of that month I stopped shaving in 2002.)

5. But enough from me! If you have a question for your fellow _flossers, ask it here! Have a great weekend!

On Fridays we ask a bunch of unrelated questions. Your answers help get us through the afternoon. On to this week's topics...

1. What's the strangest thing someone could learn about you by Googling your name? And has anyone who shares your name done anything remarkable? There's a Jason English who's almost exactly my age. He allegedly bit someone's ear off and flushed it down the toilet. It will be tough to rise above that in the search rankings.

2. What's something you regret quitting?

3. If you could change one rule in any board game, what would it be? (If you have a specific house rule you think the world should adopt, let us hear it.)

4. Do the kids celebrate Mischief Night/Devil's Eve in your neighborhood? What's the worst incident you remember?

5. Got a question for the group? Ask away. Have a great weekend and happy Halloween!
