Remember The Hero's Journey, the super-influential theory of how classical stories work, championed by Joseph Campbell, Bill Moyers, and lots of others? Of course you do! Oh wait...you've never heard of this? Well, it's the backbone of tons of stories, from Star Wars to Harry Potter to...Happy Gilmore?! This fun five-minute video explains the basics of the theory using pop culture references most of us will recognize. And it's done entirely with puppets. Seriously, sit back and enjoy five minutes of puppet-driven narrative analysis:

If you dig this, and especially if you write stories of any kind, your next stop is Joseph Campbell's book The Hero with a Thousand Faces.
