On Fridays, I post a series of unrelated questions meant to spark conversation in the comments. Answer one, answer all, respond to someone else's reply, whatever you want. On to this week's topics of discussion...
1. According to the Andy Williams song, this is the most wonderful time of the year. I'm a big fan of the holiday season, but I know lots of people who dread this page of the calendar. So I ask you: what is the most wonderful time of your year? The first day of spring? The last week of school? NBA All-Star Weekend? February Sweeps?
2. I don't need to hear about your New Year's Resolutions because you probably won't keep them. (No offense to you personally. According to one stat, only 8% of people who make resolutions follow through.) But have you ever made a resolution you stuck with all year? (Alternate question: In retrospect, what was your craziest resolution?)
3. As the famous saying goes, "The only place success comes before work is in the dictionary." Let's try to coin some (very) similar sayings. Fill in the blanks: "The only place ________ comes before _________ is in the dictionary."
4. The @mental_floss Twitter account was recently named one of the Top 90 Best Twitter Accounts by BuzzFeed. We're considering putting together our own list of Twitter favorites. If you follow anyone super-interesting on Twitter, especially someone who's not super-popular, let me know! Or just give yourself a plug.

As 2011 comes to an end, I want to thank everyone who spends part of their Fridays answering my kooky questions. A bigger thanks for being so interesting! We've been doing this since 2006, and reading your responses continues to be a highlight of my week. In this looming site redesign, we're going to build in some new ways for you guys to participate, including (I think) a reader-submitted links and videos (and possibly quizzes) section. This should be fun. Merry Christmas! Happy Hanukkah! And have the best Festivus of your life.
