Kids Explaining Computers in 1984

So what is a computer? According to kids on Sesame Street in 1984, "You press some buttons and then you can make a design." Yeah, that is pretty much what a computer is (and certainly what they were to me in 1984). Also: "It's something like a TV, and you can make pictures with it, and it helps you to read." Yes!

My favorite part:

Kid: "People don't have buttons and a computer does."

Teacher: "You have buttons on your shirt."

Kid: [Rolls eyes] "Ahhhh!"

We originally shared this a few years ago, but after Erin posted Adorably Perplexed Kids React to a Rotary Phone earlier tonight, I thought it was worth another look. And if you liked that, you might enjoy The Last Decade According to 9-Year-Olds.
